Max Verstappen took another dig at Lando Norris after the Japanese Grand Prix.

The reigning Formula 1 world champion showed his class at the Suzuka Circuit, leading from start to finish to win the Japanese Grand Prix.

Despite having a less powerful car, Verstappen managed to cross the finish line 1.4 seconds ahead of the McLaren duo of Norris and Oscar Piastri.

During a virtually incident-free race, Verstappen and Norris came close to each other at the pit exit, and the Briton had to step onto the grass to avoid contact.

After the race, Verstappen was heard taking a dig at Norris for the incident. He joked, “That’s a pretty expensive lawnmower.”

In another interview, the Red Bull superstar appeared to criticize Norris again for his team’s early dominance in 2025.

The 27-year-old driver said he would have easily won if he had been driving a McLaren.

Max Verstappen takes another swipe at Lando Norris and McLaren.

According to ESPN, Verstappen said: “I’m very happy with what I’m doing.

“I don’t even want to think if I had been in that other car [McLaren]. They wouldn’t have seen me then!”

Meanwhile, Norris wondered if McLaren’s strategy cost them the win.

He commented: “We tried a few things. Maybe we could have tried a bit more with the strategy. Overcut or undercut, we just pitted on the same lap for some reason. So we’ll discuss some things, but they’re good points for us as a team. Decent points for me.” Sure, I would have liked a bit more, but sometimes you have to be second.

“I think I should have tried to undercut. The problem is there’s always the risk of the Safety Car and so on. I think I could have gone further because I don’t think I would have lost any position, so it wasn’t out of the question.”

“I think we should have tried to run the card and then try something different. But that wasn’t the case today. So yeah, we’ll talk about things.”

Despite the disappointment at Suzuka, Norris still leads the championship with 62 points, one ahead of Verstappen.
